Two 13-year-old students drown in Tadian, Mt. Province


Mt. Province, Philippines – Two 13-year-old students drowned in Tadian, Mountain Province Sunday afternoon, February 6.


These two teenagers were reported to have gone to the Gawaan Lake in Bana-ao, Tadian for a swim where they later drowned. The drowning incident happened around 3:00 PM, according to the Mountain Province Police Public Information Office.


Upon being informed of the incident, a search and retrieval operation was launched by joint forces of 1502nd MC RMFB15, Tadian Municipal Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection Tadian, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and volunteers from the community.

At around 4:10 PM, an hour since the incident, the responding civilians recovered the body of the victim identified as Flander Bulaglag Tipac, 13, Grade 8 student of Dacudac National High School, and a resident of Barangay Lenga,Tadian.


Four hours later, the body of the other victim identified as Wilmar Laguitan Padongay, 13, Grade 8 student of Dacudac National High School, and also a resident of Barangay Linga was retrieved.


Investigation on the incident is still in progress.
