Two teens stabbed by fellow students in Isabela


Cauayan, Isabela – Two Junior High School students were stabbed by their fellow students in front of Cauayan City National High School in Barangay Turayong, Cauayan at around 12 noon on January 16.


Police investigation revealed the 13-year-old suspect was waiting for a tricycle outside the said school when the two victims suddenly beat him up.


This resulted in the suspect drawing a bladed weapon from his bag and stabbing his fellow students.

The incident only stopped when the concerned citizens and teachers pacified them.


The victims sustained wounds and were immediately ferried to the nearest hospital.


Brigade General Percival Rumbaoa, Police Regional Office 2 director identified the suspect as a 13-year-old, grade 8 student and a resident of Barangay Minante 2, Cauayan City, Isabela.


The victims, meantime, were a 16-year-old, grade 9, and a 15-year-old, grade 8 student. Both are residents of District 3 of said town.


Meantime, the suspect is in the custody of the PNP Cauayan while the two victims are currently recovering at said hospital.

Brig. Gen. Rumbaoa has ordered a thorough investigation of the incident and the deployment of policemen in the school for security.


Earlier, another stabbing incident happened in a resort in Purok 7 of Barangay Sinsayon, Santiago City, Isabela.


It was reported that the out-of-school youth suspect, 15, was under the influence of alcohol when he suddenly stabbed Jhunrhey Lopez, 19, waiter, and resident of Barangay Rizal of said city.
