Two teens transporting marijuana evaded checkpoint in Lubuagan, captured later

Lubuagan, Kalinga – Two minors traversing the road in Dangoy, Lubuagan around 2:30 in the morning on Sunday, January 15, were brought to police custody after they were caught carrying suspected marijuana.


The two who were on board a motorcycle were about to pass through the established checkpoint at Sitio Dinakan when the police personnel on duty flagged them down, Kalinga Police Information Officer, PCapt. Ruff Manganip relayed.

However, they sped off which resulted in a brief chase.


The police later discovered a half kilogram of dried leaves and stalks with fruiting tops believed to be marijuana after they searched the two suspects. The contraband has an estimated worth of P68,400.


Manganip mentioned that the minors, both 17 years old and from Tabuk City, were brought to Lubuagan Municipal Police Station for appropriate charges and intervention of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
