Two teenagers listed as top most wanted in Cagayan for rape; both arrested in Buguey

Cagayan, Philippines – Instead of attending school like what individuals their age do, two teenagers in Cagayan are now behind bars for rape charges.

These two, both 16-year-old students, were arrested in separate police operations on August 11 and 12 in Buguey, according to the Cagayan Provincial Police Office, following the sexual abuse charges filed against them by minor victims.

Alyas ‘Nick’ who was tagged as the Provincial Top 8 Most Wanted in Cagayan was arrested in Buguey on Sunday, August 11. He was charged with Statutory Rape.

A day later, Alyas ‘John’ was likewise nabbed in the same town for the same case. He was listed by the police as Top 9 Most Wanted Person in Cagayan.

The court did not recommend a bail bond for the temporary release of the two 16-year-olds while their respective cases are being heard.  

Over the past years, authorities have recorded cases of young individuals committing infractions of the law in the Philippines. In 2020 alone, the PNP Women and Children Protection Center recorded 15,892 Child in Conflict with the Law cases.
