‘‘Unaen tayu typhoon victims ikkan Ayuda, sumaruno dagiti daduma” - Mayor Juan on aid for Marce affected families in Flora


Flora, Apayao – Mayor Rodolfo Juan, on Wednesday Nov. 13 pledged the provision of aid to all affected families in town in response to the onslaught of Typhoon Marce.


In his statement, the Mayor advised residents who have not yet received their relief goods to wait as the LGU is working to find ways so that all families affected will be served.


‘‘We have already requested augmentation of relief goods such as family food packs and other non-food items from the DWSD to accommodate all families in our municipality. Unaen tayu dagiti napakarwan nga victims iti ayuda - dagiti flooded, displaced, ken na-damaged ti balbalay da, sumaruno ket sapasap nga maikkan, ’’ Juan explained.


‘‘I am aware of the vast destruction left by the recent typhoon, and it’s my desire to deliver the aid you need. Nu mapatgan ti kiddaw tayu from DSWD, we will deliver you promptly the goods that are intended, if not, I will make it sure we will find ways. In calamities like these, I reiterate that your welfare is our top priority, and we hope these trying situations will not dismantle our oneness, but the more it will reveal our resiliency, steadfastness and perseverance to withstand challenges,’’ the Mayor added.


In an interview with MSWDO Iris Venus Sana, she said there are about 6,000 families across the municipality, and according to their latest DROMIC report 1,470 families or 5,698 individuals were affected by Marce, with 434 families displaced and 453 families flooded. 728 houses were also reported damaged.


‘‘Out of the number of families affected, we have already served the 962 with family food packs, family kits, sleeping kits, and hygiene kits which amounted to P712,310.20. P612,080.20 of it came from DSWD while the P100,230.00 came from the MLGU,’’ she said.

“…Rest assured that the Local government Unit of Flora is tirelessly working to help and provide aid to all affected families,’’ Sana expressed.
