University of the Cordilleras among top Law Schools in the PH

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City is among the top law schools in the country with the greatest number of bar passers from 2011 to 2020, according to a report released by the Legal Education Board of the Philippines.


The Legal Education Board was formed in 1993, giving the mandate to uplift the standards of legal education in the country. This is said to prepare law students for advocacy, counseling, problem-solving, and decision-making. It is likewise said to instill in them the ethics of the legal profession.


The data recently showed by the Legal Education Board contains the average performance of the different law schools in the country for the bar examinations conducted for the past 10 years.

In the report, the University of the Cordilleras (UC) ranked number 10 after producing 631 lawyers in the past decade, contributing 2.53% population of bar passers in the Philippines during the said period.


Meantime, among the five law schools in the Cordillera Administrative Region, UC has the greatest number of lawyers produced in the last ten years. This is followed by Saint Louis University, with 472 lawyers produced; the University of Baguio with 157; Cordillera Career Development College, 106; and the Kalinga State University with 18 bar passers.


Based on the data, these law schools in the region had contributed a total of 1,384 lawyers in the country over the past 10 years.


The average passing rate among these schools for first-time bar takers is said to be 46.14% and 24.42% for repeat takers.
