3 Free WiFi zones launched in Pudtol; a leap towards digital transformation

Pudtol, Apayao- People of Pudtol now ensured of a more flexible and faster internet access even in remote areas as the municipality on Thursday has received thirteen (13) packages of Starlink Low Earth Orbit Satellite from the DICT's Free WiFi for all program–one of the forefront initiatives of the Department.


Said units have been installed in Pudtol LGU hall, in 5 selected schools, 5 barangay halls, 1 hospital, and 1 police station across the town to bridge gaps of internet connectivity among residents providing them access to a wider range of information and services, as well as to enable government workers deliver more efficient services.


List of free WiFi zones include Amma Jadsac District Hospital, Aurora Elementary School, Cacalaggan Barangay Hall,Lt. Balag Barangay Hall, Lydia Barangay Hall,Malibang Elementary School, Mataguisi Comp. HS Main, Pudtol Municipal Hall, Pudtol Municipal Police Station, Lower Maton Barangay Hall,Upper Maton Elementary School,Tawit National High School, and Imelda Barangay Hall.


With the newly established and actualized Free WiFi sites, Mayor Hector Reuel Pascua believed it as a significant step to address the growing demands of the digital economy, and bridge digital divide among his constituents especially those living in Geographically Isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).


Mayor Pascua, calls for residents to take advantage of the program, and expressed hoped it will have a positive impact transforming lives and communities in the era of global connectivity.
