4 injured in Tabuk City after van fell in 20-meter ravine

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Four people were injured after the van they were travelling in fell into a ravine in Tabuk City Saturday night, August 05, 2023.

The vehicle described to be a Hyundai Starex driven by Jayvee Galinggana, 21, was traversing the national road in Nambaran around 9:30 p.m. of said date, the Tabuk City police wrote in their initial investigation.

However, just after it passed by the cemetery at Sitio Ileb, the van is believed to have struggled particularly at the descending and curving portion of the road. This cause the driver to lose control, leading the car down the 20-meter ravine at the side of the highway.

Galinggana along with his companions identified to be Freddie Mar Cabasag, 18; Elimar Allan Cabasag, 22; and Kyle Baturi, 20. All of them are residents of Junction, Pinukpuk.

The four were rushed by a rescue team to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
