Van-motorcycle collision leaves 68-yr-old man dead in Ramon, Isabela

Ramon, Isabela - An elderly man was killed in a tragic road accident that transpired in Ramon, Isabela on Monday, July 29, 2024.

He was identified by the police as Areston Toquero, 68, a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Raniag, Ramon.

An investigation conducted by the Ramon PNP revealed that Toquero was on board a Yamaha Sniper and was traversing the road in said barangay when the accident transpired.

Toquero slowed down his motorcycle while he was about to turn left. During the process, a van that was following him was not able to stop on time and crashed his motorcycle.

With the impact, the old man was thrown off from his motorcycle which caused him severe injuries.

The responding medical team rushed him to a medical facility, but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, the van driver, identified as Balter Sanchez, 34, is now in police custody and will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
