Vice Gov Odiem assures support to DANAMI ICC in relation to Upper Tabuk Hydro power plant

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Vice Governor Dave Odiem assured support to the Dallac – Nanong – Minanga Indigenous Cultural Communities, saying his office is open to serve should the organization have any concerns regarding the proposed Upper Tabuk Hydroelectric Power Plant.


“Rest assured nga uray awan isuna tatta nga amin a concerns nga iyasideg yu kanyana for the operation of the project, he will always support [you] as the vice governor tayo and as kas chairman of the SP,” Dr. Mina Odiem, who represented the vice governor said.


During the blessing of road going to the proposed hydropower plant and groundbreaking ceremony of the tramline this September 8 in Dun-ol, Bagumbayan, the vice governor cited some benefits of the hydro once it will push through which include lower power bill for the people in Kalinga.

He added that if investors will learn that the electricity cost in Kalinga is low, they will be encouraged to come and invest in the province.


He further said that once the project will operate, Engineer Daniel Peckley, the proponent, shall be paying tax to the government. This, he said, will become an additional source of income to the province.

The vice governor concluded his message, encouraging the DANAMI community to continue working and support said projects designed to pave the way to development in the area.
