Vice-mayor of Pidigan, Abra shot by riding-in-tandem

Pidigan, Abra – Bullets continue to rain in Abra as it recorded its fourth shooting incident this month of September in the morning of Thursday, September 12.


The victim, this time, is the current Vice Mayor of Pidigan, Noel Bisares.


Bisares, based on initial investigation, was sitting inside a construction supply establishment when two suspects on board a motorcycle showed up in the area.


It was the pillion passenger, described to be wearing an orange cap, who alighted from their vehicle and headed to where the victim was.


Said suspect later fired bullets to the victim multiple times. Bisares, as a result, sustained gunshot wounds to his right arm and shoulder.


Bisares was ferried to a medical facility in Bantay, Ilocos Sur where he is currently recuperating.


Investigation of the case is now ongoing to determine the motive of the crime and unravel the identity of the suspects.


To recall, three shooting incidents transpired during the first week of September.


The first two incidents transpired on September 1.


In the morning of said date, a former municipal councilor of sustained gunshot wounds to his head when he was shot by an unknown suspect in Dolores, Abra.


Later that day, a shooting incident occurred at Sitio Lugit, Patucannay, Tayum, Abra, killing a farmer.


Meantime, the third incident happened in a broad daylight at a rice store in Bucay, Abra on September 3.

This resulted in the death of a businessman while his wife suffered from gunshot wounds. Unlike the first two cases, suspects were immediately arrested by police through a checkpoint in this incident.
