Victim of motorcycle collision in Isabela under coma, relatives plead for help


Cauayan City, Philippines – Relatives of Elmer Angoluan Jr, one of the victims of a road accident in Gamu, Isabela on Saturday are now asking for help as Elmer battles for survival.


Elmer is currently in a state of coma as a result of the accident.


“Kami po ay humihingi ng tulong para sa aming kamag-anak na si Elmer Calamba Angoluan, 24-years-old residente ti Naguilian Norte Ilagan City Isabela na naaksidente noong sabado at kasalukuyan na nasa kalagayan ng Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) sa Isabela Doctors General Hospital,” a relative said in a Facebook post.

The motorcycle and truck collision


As recalled, two young men were injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck around 5:00 pm in Guibang Bypass Road, Gamu, Isabela Saturday, July 2, 2022.


Elmer Angoluan, 24, single, a water refilling delivery man was with his back rider Charles Castillo, 18, single, a student. Both are residents of Naguilian Norte, City of Ilagan.


The Isuzu truck driver meantime was identified as Virgilio Madrid, 46, married, and a resident of Sto. Tomas, Alicia, Isabela.

It was reported that the motorcycle and truck were moving on a highway and collided upon reaching a blind curve.


The motorcycle, according to an investigation, encroached on the line of the truck causing the collision.


The two riders of the motorcycle sustained injuries on various parts of their body, while the driver of the truck was unhurt.


Rescue team from the PNP and BFP Gamu responded immediately and applied first aid to the victims before taking them to a hospital.
