Tabuk City, Kalinga – After losing the mayoral race, outgoing City Vice Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as reminds supporters not to bicker with the followers of other politicians and instead start healing and move forward from the elections.

During his Thanksgiving celebration on May 15 in Barangay Appas, Dao-as expressed his profound gratitude to all his supporters for sticking with him until the end of the campaign and for sacrificing a lot to help him during the election period.

Even he lost, Dao-as is thankful that no unfortunate incidents happened during the election in the city.

“Dawatek daytoy a gundaway nga agpasalamat kadakayo kakailyan a timmulong kanyak ket uray nu kastoy a haan tayo a napagasatan idi didiay a napalabas nga election ket agyaman tayo latta ken Apo ta at least awan iti nangnangyari a madi, okay tayo met latta uray nu kasdiay nga awan gasat tayo,” he said.

With the outpouring support he received, Dao-as recounted that the first thing he thought while watching his opponent gets higher votes was the people who believed in him, who helped him since day one of his campaign.

However, he stressed that there might be other path for him to take which is why he encouraged his supporters to move forward and to reflect from the elections and to carry as lessons the things that transpired during the May 2022 poll.

“Sapay kuma ta daytoy panagkakadwa tayo ken daytoy napasamak idi napalabas nga election ket adu kuma nga adal iti napidut tayo kadagiay a nangnangyari,” he said.

Dao-as wrapped up his message with an appeal for his supporters to refrain from arguing with the followers of other candidates and also not to blame those who turned their back from the vice mayor during the election period.

“Haan kayon nga agsangit-sangit nu anya ditan, agragsak tayo ketdin. Nalpasen iti eleksyon, anya ngay ag-move on tayon. Isu a pang-pangaasi yun, awan ti maki-ap-apa, awanen iti agsangit-sangit, biruken tayon nu kasatnu a dagiay pagsayaatan tayo isu dagiayen iti mapan tayo kitaen tatta. Awanen iti agsingir-singir karkaru dagidiay kunkunada a bimmaliktad wennu anya dita, pang-pangaasi yu ta haan yu sing-singiren dagidiay ta nalpas ngarud iti eleksyonen, bay-bay an yu dagidiayen,” he stressed.

Dao-as lost by around 6,000 votes to incumbent Tabuk Mayor Darwin Estranero for the mayoralty seat.
