Want to win P2.2M? Join the DOT-CAR ‘Search for Best Tourism Village’

Baguio City, Cordillera – Over P 2 million cash prizes await winners of the Search for Best Tourism Village conducted by the Department of Tourism-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR).

The search aims to recognize local tourism villages doing exemplary performance in promoting sustainable, responsible, equitable and participatory of rural tourism development.

With this, DOT-CAR invites all existing tourism villages in the different provinces of the region to join the said search.

How to Join?

To join the said search, applicants have to fill out a form given by the DOT-CAR with all relevant details.

Said application form is available at all Provincial Tourism Offices and Municipal Tourism Offices of LGUs in the region. It can also downloaded from https://bit.ly/BestTourismVillageSearch.

After filling out the said form, participants may send it to the officer instituted by the said department.

The deadline for the submission of the application form is on December 23, 2022.

After the Screening Committee evaluates the form submitted by the applicants, the DOT-CAR and a designated team will visit the place for validation.

Determining winners

The criteria for judging winners include Sustainable Management with 25% rating; Socio-Economic Sustainability- 15%; Cultural Sustainability- 25%; Environmental Sustainability - 10%; and Rural Economic Development - 25%.

Cash prizes, trophies, tokens, and certificates of recognition will be given to the winners.

The 1st place shall receive P 1, 000,000 with a trophy and token; the 2nd place will get P500,000, a trophy and token; and the 3rd place will be rewarded with P 200,000, a trophy, and token.

For the runners-up, 5 entries will be given P 100,000 cash incentives, certificates of recognition, and tokens.

Awarding ceremony will be done in January 2023 in a hybrid format, a fusion of face-to-face or physical meeting and online digital platform.
