Water delivery boy accused of raping teen arrested in Tuba, Benguet

Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio police arrested a water delivery boy accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in November last year, a report of local police said on Tuesday, January 24.

The suspect, tagged as Cordillera’s top 5 most wanted, was found by police in his hideout in Barangay Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet on Friday, January 20.

The arrest was made in response to a warrant issued by Judge Modesto D. Bahul, Jr. of Branch 2, Family Court, First Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Baguio City.

As recalled, the suspect Jonathan Mazaredo, 23, convinced the teenager victim to meet him at Malcolm Square prior to the rape incident.

During the meet-up, Mazaredo invited the victim for a drinking session at their house in Barangay Pinget.

Though unwilling at first, the victim eventually gave in and went to have a drinking spree with the suspect and friends.

Since the victim is not accustomed to drinking liquor, she immediately got drunk.

It was then that the suspect grabbed the opportunity to bring the victim to his room and there, he allegedly raped the victim thrice.

Before she went out of the suspect’s house the next day, the former threatened her that if she told anyone about what happened, something horrible would happen to her.

Her mother, meantime, observed a change in the behavior of her daughter when she returned home. She managed to dig out what happened to her daughter and filed a complaint right away.

After his arrest, the victim was brought to Station 2 Camdas for documentation.
