Tabuk City, Kalinga – “Truly, in occasions where we could best exhibit our unity and solidarity, discrimination should be set aside. The political exercise is over, and we should move forward in significant ways because we are stronger when we come together and share our vision of a stronger and resilient future,” Kalinga Representative Allen Jesse Mangaoang said in his talk to officials and personnel of different national line agencies during the First Inter-Agency Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, July 4 at the Provincial Capitol.
With the new set of officials, Mangaoang reminded that challenges are inevitable, and to overcome these, unity and solidarity count the most.
Mangaoang added that though there may be plenty of accomplishments and out-of-the-box solutions to boast about, there are still many things to be done.
Some of the challenges the congressman cited include the preparations for disaster season, the ongoing public health crisis, and resolutions on recovery from economic drawbacks experienced in the province.
Mangaoang believes that with the level of professionalism and dedication of government workers, they are expected to fulfill their responsibilities and carry out their duties well.
With said expectation from the people, the solon said they should not disappoint their clients.
Mangaoang went on to encourage his fellow public servants to pursue ‘good and participatory governance, and step forward as prime examples of model public servants’.
“Let us all muster the drive to continue giving our best day in and day out, even in the face of these uncertain times,” he added.
As to criticisms and distractions, Mangaoang said they should not mind them and instead let these serve as catalysts in proving to detractors that they are wrong.
He highlighted the true barometer of success is when their initiatives as public servants are effective and can be truly felt by their constituents.
“With integrity in our right hand and excellence in our left, I am sure that it will not be long before the people will see the sincerity of our actions and therefore freely hand their trust back to the government. And I hope that you will all soldier on through the rest of the year with the same resolve and passion you showed in our previous struggles. Towards the end, I believe all our actions will light us down, either in honor or dishonor, by the next generation… Let us choose to be honored,” he concluded.
