Woman's rotting body found in Tuba, Benguet

Tuba, Benguet – A decomposing body of a woman was found at Sitio Shontog, Taloy Sur, Tuba, morning of January 20, according to authorities.

The incident is the first reported this year but Tuba has long been known as a dumping place of dead bodies, as told by residents who have been discovering corpses in the area in previous years.

Tuba police rushed to the scene after receiving a notification and saw the naked female cadaver which was already rotting. It was only covered with a white cloth.

As reported, the body showed no signs of injury.

The body have already undergone autopsy and is now at the Damayan Funeral Homes.

Authorities are still waiting for the autopsy results that would help them in the probe to unravel the victim’s identity, and the reason of her death.

Meantime, the public, particularly those with missing family members are urged to call the police to hasten the process of identifying the dead body.
