Woman with mental disorder in Isabela suspected of kidnapping

Santiago City, Isabela – A woman suspected of kidnapping children in Santiago city, Isabela was found afflicted by a mental disorder, according to Santiago City Police (SCPO) Station 3.

SCPO Station 3, through Bombo Radyo Cauayan, relayed that a video of a woman had been circulating on social media these past few days, alleging she was acting mentally ill in order to take children from their mothers.

With the posted video which alarmed the public, the police conducted an operation to find the woman.

Police found her and were informed that the woman was really a mentally disabled person.

Providing proof that the woman has a mental disability, her caregiver showed the investigating police her medical records.

Moreover, relatives likewise stated that because of this disability, she has been strolling around and when she happens to meet children on her way, she immediately approaches and hug them.

At present, the woman is already brought back into the care of her family.

With the said incident, the authorities of Isabela vowed to do all means to safeguard the safety of the public and to stop the circulating speculations and rumors that may raise fears among the people.
