yApayao singer wraps The Voice Norway journey at Top 16

Updated: May 5, 2023

Singer from Apayao, Leonardo ‘LJ’ Amorsolo Jr. acknowledged loved ones and Filipinos’ endless support as he finished his journey on The Voice Norway at Top 16.

“I seriously can’t imagine my journey without you! You’ve been uplifting my spirit and confidence since the blind auditions! This is not possible without each and every one of you!” he recently wrote on Facebook.

LJ who was raised in Malama, Conner but is currently based in Oslo, Norway made it to the live shows of The Voice Norway where he performed Unholy by Sam Smith on April 28. This level of the competition, however, depends on public votes to be able to advance to Top 8.

While he failed to get to the next level of the show, the 26-year-old singer quoted “Every ending is a new beginning”, revealing that ‘new opportunities’ are coming his way and that the ‘real work’ has begun.

“All I can say is that I am very very proud of myself. The results may not be what we imagined and I know a lot of you guys are disappointed, hurt, and mad, but we all have to accept that it was not my time,” he stated.

LJ expressed that as much as he wanted to blame himself for ‘being in a bad form’, getting to top 16 is already ‘something to be proud of’.

In his post, the singer also cheered on his fellow contestants who were able to advance to Top 8. He likewise conveyed appreciation to his coach, singer-songwriter Ina Wroldsen saying, “I will pick you as a mentor over and over again!”
