"It could be this month or next… I am ready to fight in the flyweight division,” said Saclag during an interview with PIO Baguio at the Benguet State University gym on Tuesday, August 01.

As he gears up to bring his wares to the next level, Saclag has recently signed with the famous Team Lakay and is currently training with all facets of MMA.

However, he made it clear that he could compete at the amateur level, but his time with the Philippine team is not over yet.

To recall, Saclag was discovered as a 17-year-old wushu sanda prospect who came to Incheon, South Korea Asiad in 2014 where he conveyed silver, the best completion for a Cordilleran since Rolly Chulhang in 2002.

In 2013, he appeared in the World Wushu Championships in Kuala Lumpur, winning a bronze medal.

He also won a gold medal in the Sanda World Cup and was eventually a three-Peat Southeast Asian Games Gold medalist for kickboxing in 2019, 2021, and 2023.

His experience as a martial artist, according to him, will play an important role in his professional career.
