yKalinga beauty queen wins Fashion and Runway video challenge

Tabuk City, Kalinga — Ghenesis Dalayday Latugat who is representing Baguio City in this year’s search for Miss Universe Philippines recently won the Fashion and Runway video challenge.

The 22-year-old Latugat who hails from Tabuk City, Kalinga, bested the other 49 participants in her runway film held on top of the Marcos Highway Tunnel. The beauty queen was wearing a short dress featuring Kalinga and Benguet weaving styles designed by Erjohn Dela Serna.

In a behind the scene clips uploaded by her team on Facebook, the glammed up Ms. Latugat was made to climb the tunnel in a wooden ladder and at some point, her team also had to carry her under the heat of the sun, while shooting her entry.

Runner ups for the Fashion and Runway challenge are Cebu City’s representative Chantal Elise Legaspi Schmidt and Palawan’s Angelica Lopez.

This year’s search is composed of various challenges such as headshot, introduction, swimsuit, fashion and runway, and interview challenges.

The 50 delegates will be narrowed down to 30, and reigning Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez who was top 5 during the Search for Miss Universe in Israel, will be crowning her successor this coming Miss Universe Philippines Pageant set on April 30.
