yKalinga gents hailed Wanes King Cordillera, Igorot Hunk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – yKalingas outshined other candidates in the first-ever Wanes King Cordillera held recently in Baguio City.

The male pageant was organized and directed by Galdong Lang Udan following the controversies on improper use of “bahag/wanes/G-string” - the male Igorot loincloth. Udan is the founder of Panagbenga hottest and Igorot hunks, a talent and cultural promoter, designer, and owner of Igorot Treasure International.

The search aims to raise awareness on proper use of the Cordilleran cultural attire.

Trojan Dangadang representing the Province of Kalinga defeated 17 other candidates to win the Wanes King Cordillera 2022 while Justin Dumawing was named Igorot Hunk 2022.

Dangadag stated winning the title caught him by surprise. He and Dumawing extended gratitude to their family, relatives, supporters, and sponsors who backed them in the pageant.

Meanwhile, Kyzer Gewan was chosen as Kalinga Ambassador, Rhacson Pagada for Apayao, Jeremiah Lizales for Abra, John Paul Gahid for Ifugao, Godwin Ayodoc for Mt. Province, and Vergel Bayacsan for Benguet province.

The organizer hopes for the winners to serve as models and educate their fellow youth on the proper wearing of cultural attire.
