Baguio City, Philippines – Kickboxer Jean Claude “The Dynamite” Saclag who hails from Lubuagan, Kalinga and Benguet is among the athletes featured in the Heroes Portrait exhibit of Baguio City.

Team Lakay’s Saclag was a Wushu World Cup champion in Sanda - also known as Chinese kickboxing and a full-contact combat sport in 2014. During the same year, he clinched a silver medal at the Incheon 2014 Asian Games.

In the Southeast Asian Games 2019, he won gold in kickboxing. He was also able to defend his title in the 31st SEA Games held in May 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

His success in international sports competitions was duly recognized in the city such that the noted muralists and photographer included the kickboxing convert from wushu in their art exhibit.

In his displayed photograph taken by Eliza Consul, Saclag can be seen in his fighting stance wearing the traditional “bahag.”

The young kickboxer was likewise among the heroes' portrait made by Harold Banario and Gladys Anne Labsan.

The exhibit was formally opened to the public on August 30 at the City Sports Development Office located at Baguio Athletic Bowl.

Saclag took to social media to express gratitude to the artists and the city officials who took part in making the art exhibit possible.

Other athletes included in the mural projects are golfers Luigi Paolo Wong, Mars Pucay, volleyball player Majoy Baron, wushu taolu players Karizha Chan, Natasha Laxamana and Ken Omengan, Sandi Menchi Abahan for obstacle course race, JT Gonzales of triathlon, among others.
