Not only he has the face and the brain, but Jamesun Wacnang Bejarin also showed he too has the heart to help others in his own little way.

On January 21, 2023, Jamesun donated the cash he saved from his salary to the Angat Buhay Foundation, a non-government organization that reaches out to far-flung communities in the country.

The foundation’s four advocacy areas include food security and health, education, disaster relief and rehabilitation, and community engagement.

Jamesun, the young yKalinga who graduated Batch Valedictorian of the Ateneo de Manila University in 2022, is currently working as a legislative staff at the House of Representatives.

He told GURU Press Cordillera he set aside the majority of his income in November last year, his birth month. This is to be able to contribute to people’s livelihood through the foundation.

Weaving Community

In his chat with Former Vice President Leni Robredo, the founder of Angat Buhay Foundation, they discussed that his donation will go to one of the weaving communities in the Cordillera.

“Dinamag ko ken Atty. Leni nu adda tultulungan da nga Cordillera communities. Adda kanu and we decided to allocate it for one of our Cordillera weaving communities,” he narrated.

‘Doing My Part to Help’

Jamesun has been donating at the Angat Buhay Foundation since 2020, even while he was still a student. He said he was just doing his part to help others, particularly during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I believe that we can all serve our community and country through our own unique ways. By going beyond myself, I have also translated feelings of uncertainty to meaningful action with and for our fellow Filipinos,” he relayed.
