Tabuk City, Kalinga – Filipino nurses are noted for their exemplary patient care and empathy, making them in demand around the world.

One of these nurses who are currently overseas is Nurse January Santos Gunnawa who despite being away from her homeland doesn’t stop from thriving and performing her best to provide quality care to children.

A testament to this was her being an honoree during the 2023 CP State Annual Conference in New York, a convention attended by health professionals to discuss advancements and concerns about healthcare.

Gunnawa who is from Lubo, Tanudan has been working at the St. Margaret’s Center for Children. She’s the only Filipino recognized from their ward at the event.

In her interview with the Kalinga Provincial Information Office, Gunnawa conveyed it is her duty to give the best possible care to those in need.

"Every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and I consider it my duty to provide the best possible care and support to those in need," she was quoted saying.

The Center for Disability Services commended the yKalinga nurse and her peers, thanking them for ‘the work they do each day, and the difference they make, helping people get better at life’.
