yKalinga collects 2 gold medals in 12th ASEAN Para Games


Tabuk City, Kalinga – yKalinga para athlete Jerrold Mangliwan has once again brought pride to the Philippines and Kalinga after amassing two gold medals in the 12th ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia.


The competition opened at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh on June 03 and will end on June 09, 2023.

As of 9:00 p.m. of June 07, India is leading the competition with 125 gold medals, 115 silver, and 68 bronze followed by Thailand and Vietnam with 96-86-61 and 59-50-74, respectively.


The Philippines is at number 5 in the medal tally with 91 collected medals so far. Of the figure, 25 are gold, 30 silver, and 36 bronze.


According to the Philippine Sports Commission, Mangliwan delivered the 18th and 22nd gold for the Philippines on June 06 and June 07, respectively.


The wheelchair racer dominated the Men’s 400m T52 and the Men's 200m T52 on said dates.

After the 12th ASEAN Para Games, Mangliwan earlier disclosed to GURU Press Cordillera he will be playing in the World Para Athletics 2023 in France next month; Asian Games 2023 in China in October; and in the International Wheelchair Amputee Sports Games in Thailand in December.
