yMangali woman returns found P98K cash to owner

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Proving that no one should own what is not theirs and that honesty still thrives, Pearl Domalleg Namar, native of Mangali Tanudan, took the opportunity to show such rectitude after returning P98,000 cash she found along the road.

Namar, a real estate agent, was waiting for a tricycle just in front of the JVA Hospital in Bulanao yesterday, April 18, when she noticed a bundle of money at the side of the road. She said it was not placed in a bag, but rather it was simply bundled with a rubber band.

“Adda napan ko kinita dita JVA, idiay batog na, isu iti nagurayak iti tricycle. Tattan idi agur uray adda iti kwarta idiay a nabirukak,” she said.

Thinking that the money would be used for someone’s hospitalization since she found it in front of a hospital, she immediately posted the lost and found money on Facebook.

“Iti adda iti panunut ko, nu ngay mausar nu ma-opera diay tao, ta batog garud iti hospital. Ti panpanunutek ket nu ngay pang emergency use na piman. Konsensiya mon a diay,” she said.

After posting, there were 2 individuals who contacted her. To ensure that the money will go to its rightful owner, she ask some details, and a man, identified as Marcelo Nicolas, matched the description and information he provided with the found items.

“Tattan adda tinmawag, dinamag ko kanyana nu manu ket inbaga na nga kitam man nu 98,000 dayta. Inbagak a wen, 98,000. Ket dinamag ko nu anya iti galut na, [ket kunana] diay lastiko na kanu ket yellow,” she narrated, noting that she did not post the rubber band, only the money.

Just this morning of April 19, she met with the owner and returned the lost money which was a down payment for a car they are repairing.

Namar stressed that people should not take something that belongs to others, especially when they are not the ones who worked hard to earn it, “karu ta haan mo met a nagbannugan dayta a kwarta,” she said, adding that after all, money can be earned as she advised that found items should be returned to their rightful owner.
