Young Abra athletes bag 12 medals in 2022 Nat’l Age Group Poomsae & Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship

Abra, Philippines - Young athletes from Abra province won at least 12 medals in the 2022 National Age Group Poomsae (Pattern) and Kroyugi (Sparring) Taekwondo Championship held at Ayala Malls Manila Bay on November 19 to 20, 2022.


Poomsae was defined to be a series of movements for offense and defense techniques while Kroyugi, known as sparring, is a free-form fight between two people subject to strict rules to avoid injuries and to ensure a fair competition.


In Kroyugi, Jezy Grace Daoaten and Grace Daoaten won gold in Grade School Novice 1 and Cadet Novice 1 category, respectively.


Meanwhile, Francis Paganao III snatched silver in Toddler Novice 1 and Chris Alaivan Rapisura got the same medal in Grade School Novice 2.

Jilliane Daoaten landed as bronze medalist along with John Blake Camarao and Mhareleigh Lanas.


In individual Poomsae, Janna Kaitlyne Tadeo was proclaimed the gold medalist in Grade School Yellow Belt Female, Gavin Matthew Anin as silver medalist in Grade School Male Yellow, Princess Dianne Turqueza as bronze medalist in Grade School Female Yellow.


Also grabbing the bronze were Jhunna Marie Corpuz in Junior Female Red Belt and Kendra Bejarin in Toddler Female Yellow Belt.


All of the medalist are One Mind Taekwondo Training Center (OMTTC) warriors.
