yTanudan kickboxer notches bronze in 2022 ASBC Asian Elite Men & Women Boxing Championship

Tanudan, Kalinga – A kickboxer from Taloctoc, Tanudan emerged as a bronze medalist in the 2022 Asian Boxing Confederation's Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championship being held in Amman, Jordan.

The ASBC governs, improves, and promotes the sport of boxing in all its forms in Asian continent in the light of its educational, cultural and sports values. Also, it initiates programs designed to support young athletes and all officials.

The 28-year-old Hergie Bacyadan was assured of the medal in the women’s middleweight

75kg division after the draw.

During the semi-finals on Wednesday, the kickboxer suffered a close 3-2 loss to Ruzmetova Sokhiba of Uzbekistan, scoring 29-28 to judges from India and Chinese Taipei, and 28-29 to judges from Morocco, Italy and Tunisia.

Despite his defeat, Bacyadan remains optimist and relayed that what matters is she gave all her best in the fight.

“Ang mahalaga, ginawa naten ang lahat ng makakaya. Maraming salamat sa mga sumuporta at nagdasal lalo na sa Panginoon na nagbigay saken ng pagkakataon makapaglaro dito sa ASBC,” she expressed.

In April, Bacyadan snatched a gold medal in the women’s middleweight category of the 2022 Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament at Angsana Laguna Phuket Resort Hotel, Phuket, Thailand.
