yTanudans to highlight value of ‘cooperation’ on Bodong Festival

Updated: Feb 2, 2023

Tanudan, Kalinga – If there is one thing yTanudans want to highlight this coming Bodong Festival, that is cooperation.

Alex Ladwingon, Executive Assistant to the Mayor LGU-Tanudan mentioned that the people in the municipality are now getting ready for the different events on Kalinga Day and this includes the much-awaited “Awong Chi Gangsa, Agtun Chi Banga” on February 15.

He relayed that the 16 barangays in the municipality had chosen and sent their gong players and dancers in order to complete the performers who will represent Tanudan in the activity.

Ladwingon further revealed they selected Tanudan Vocational School in Mangali to do the 5-minute performance during the Awong Chi Gangsa. The students are set to start their practice this week, after their examination.

Showing its support to the performers, the Tanudan Local Government Unit led by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag provided the pots, and t-shirts and shouldered the participants’ meals and snacks during the preparation for the big event.

According to Ladwingon, the different barangays were excited to show off their talents on Kalinga Day, particularly since the festival had been suspended for two years due to the pandemic.

“Our goal is not only to win the contested activities this coming Kalinga Day, but it's also to show cooperation & unity,” he emphasized.
